Australian First Fleet Stamp Collection - Bicentenary - 1988

The First Fleet reached Sydney Cove in January 1788 after sailing from Portsmouth in 1787. It comprised 11 vessels carrying more than 1,400 people, including convicts, marines and sailors. This 1988 stamp collection commemorates the bicentenary of the fleet’s arrival.
